An Overview Of Sinus Arrhythmia: (Sinus Arrhythmia Causes, Symptoms, Treatment)

In an easy word, when heart rhythm starts at the sinus node but is abnormally, it calls Sinus Arrhythmia. It refers to the irregular condition of the heartbeats cycle. Depending on the heartbeat, too slow or too fast, we see 2 types of sinus arrhythmia.

Arrhythmia is an abnormal condition of heart rhythm; Sinus Arrhythmia is one Arrhythmia. It is a common condition in adults, young and children. This article is about Sinus Arrhythmia causes, symptoms, and treatment.

What Is Sinus Arrhythmia

When a heartbeat is irregular is called Arrhythmia, and when the irregular heartbeat is either slow, too slowly, or too fast is called sinus arrhythmia. It refers to changing the sinus node rate with the respiratory cycle, inspiration, and expiration.

It is not a severe heart condition and is a natural heartbeat variation. It has no clinical significance and is common in young adults, children, and healthy individuals.

The heart is increased with inspiration and decreased with expiration. When the heartbeat changes its pace during inhaling and exhale is called respiratory Arrhythmia. It generally occurs in older people. Sinus bradycardia is a condition of sinus arrhythmia.

It is the slow heartbeat. If the natural heart rhythm is below 60 is bradycardia sinus arrhythmia. This can cause a lengthy pause between beats in sleeping. On the other hand, when the heartbeat is too fast is called tachycardia.

If the natural heartbeat rate is more than 100 is the cause of tachycardia and Sinus Arrhythmia. It results from some conditions such as stress, fever, pain, exercise or medications, etc.

Causes of Sinus Arrhythmia

There are no clear causes of Sinus Arrhythmia. This can be caused by heart disease or another heart condition in any older individual. It is the result of damage to the heart. It is most common in young and healthy individuals, and some other conditions can cause this sinus arrhythmia as hypertension, obesity, and diabetes.

Symptoms of Sinus Arrhythmia

People with Sinus Arrhythmia will live everyday and simple life. It does not decrease the life expectations of individuals. Sometimes individuals with sinus arrhythmia may experience some common complications and show some symptoms like:

  • Slow heartbeats
  • Dizziness
  • Fainting
  • Heart palpitations
  • Chest pain
  • Light Headedness
  • Shortness of breath

Diagnosis of Sinus Arrhythmia

Generally, Sinus Arrhythmia becomes undetectable. The doctor will conduct an Electrocardiogram (EKG) to diagnose sinus arrhythmia. This test is very costly, can detect all aspects of the heartbeat, and helps the doctor see potential irregularities such as sinus arrhythmia. Sinus arrhythmia is not dangerous and not problematic.

If the doctor suggests doing an electrocardiogram test, we must understand some other problematic conditions in our heart. This electrocardiogram can test heart electrical signals and detect other aspects easily. It also may include atrial fibrillation and third-degree AV block.

Treatment Sinus Arrhythmia

Sinus Arrhythmia is neither dangerous nor problematic, and it is a common naturally occurring heartbeat; there is no need to treat sinus arrhythmia. Treatment is unnecessary for most people because it does not lead to other issues.

However, a sinus arrhythmia may develop because of some other heart condition like heart disease, so a doctor will treat that condition to stop Sinus Arrhythmia.

The most important thing is, don’t be fear of Sinus Arrhythmia. It’s not that difficult heart condition. Sinus Arrhythmia is just heartbeat difficulties. It will be easy to treat if you follow some normal treatment methods. However, follow the symptoms and causes carefully because prevention is better than cure.
